Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and Como star Nico Paz will play in the World Cup with the Argentina national team.
The Argentine Federation has confirmed the national team’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, including Paz, the best Serie A midfielder in 2025-26 and Lautaro, the best striker and leading scorer in Italy’s top flight this term.
Lautaro already won the World Cup four years ago, while Paz, 21, has been called up for the competition for the first time in his career.
Nico Paz made his senior Argentina debut in 2024 and has scored one goal in eight appearances for his national team.
Juventus-owned Nico Gonzalez is also part of the Argentina squad, yet the 24-year-old spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Atletico Madrid.
There are more ex-Serie A stars included in the Argentine squad for the World Cup: Juan Musso, Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Leandro Paredes and Rodrigo De Paul.
Goalkeepers: Emiliano Martínez, Gerónimo Rulli, Juan Musso.
Defenders: Gonzalo Montiel, Nahuel Molina, Lisandro Martínez, Nicolás Otamendi, Leonardo Balerdi, Cristian Romero, Nicolás Tagliafico, Facundo Medina.
Midfielders: Giovani Lo Celso, Leandro Paredes, Rodrigo De Paul, Exequiel Palacios, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, Valentín Barco.
