Udinese are amongst the teams interested in signing Marseille forward Neil Maupay, as reports from France claim the Serie A side have enquired for the former Brighton and Everton striker alongside Lille and Nice.
Reports from RMC sport, via TuttoMercatoWeb , claim that Maupay is surplus to requirements at Marseille, with head coach Roberto De Zerbi leaving the Frenchman out of his squad for the club’s 1-0 opening day defeat to Rennes.
Nice and Lille are considered the clubs leading the race for Maupay’s signature. The forward spent three years developing at Nice whilst Lille are also considered to be big fans of his profile. However, Udinese cannot be ruled out from offering the Frenchman his first opportunity outside of England or France.
Maupay signed for Marseille from Everton in January, on a six-month loan with an obligation to buy for €6 million. The 29-year-old scored four goals in 21 Ligue 1 appearances last season but now appears to be on the fringes at the French club, especially with the return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
