New developments have emerged in the ongoing Vinícius Júnior transfer saga.

The Brazilian has been at the center of interest from Premier League champions Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their squad as they head into the new season after winning the English title after 22 years.

The North London club is reportedly ready to break its transfer record to bring the 26-year-old to the Emirates this season, with only one year remaining on his contract with Real Madrid.

Vinícius would be a world-class addition for Mikel Arteta following Leandro Trossard's departure, and the Spaniard is reportedly willing to make him Arsenal's highest-paid player if they can secure his signature.

Bukayo Saka currently earns £300,000 ($406,000) per week, and Arsenal would also have to exceed Vinícius' current salary of $468,000 (€400,000) per week.

Now, a report from Diario AS has revealed that Vinícius has already made a decision on his future.

Vinícius Makes Final Call on Real Madrid Future

With Real Madrid and José Mourinho closing in on the signing of Yan Diomande, speculation surrounding Vinícius' future has only intensified.

Earlier reports claimed that contract renewal talks between the Brazilian and Real Madrid had stalled.

Vinícius is now reportedly asking for around $23.4 million (€20 million) net per season, an increase of $5.9 million (€5 million) compared to the deal he signed during his last contract renewal in 2022.

However, a new report from AS suggests that Vinícius has decided he wants to stay at the club and renew his contract, with Real Madrid also willing to reach an agreement.

Earlier, José Mourinho also informed the club that he intends to keep the Brazilian in his squad.

That came after Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez made it clear that he wants the 26-year-old, whom the club signed from Flamengo, to remain at the club for the rest of his career.

"I'd love for him to stay forever. He's won us the last two Champions Leagues and he identifies really well with the club. You know who doesn't like him? Those who aren't Real Madrid fans.”

Pérez said earlier, making his intentions regarding the Brazilian very clear.
