Last month, Chidera Ejuke suffered a high-grade hamstring tear whilst playing for Sevilla against Barcelona. The Nigerian winger had made a strong start to life at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but he will now be out of action until 2025.
After a shaky start, Sevilla have steadied the ship in recent weeks. Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta’s side have won three of their last five in La Liga, and they also progressed to the second round of the Copa del Rey during the week.
After two wins in three, Sevilla were brought back down to earth on Sunday as they were comprehensively beaten by Barcelona at the Estadi Olimpic. To make matters worse, they also lost Chidera Ejuke in the first half, as he pulled up with a hamstring injury.
This summer’s transfer window is an important one for Sevilla, as they aim to get Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta’s reign as manager off to a good start.
Sevilla will begin another summer overhaul with the signing of Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke, according to multiple reports. The 26-year-old has even been spotted in the city, and is expected to pen a deal with the club on Monday for the next three years, say El Desmarque (via Relevo).
Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke has spoken about how he previously had the chance to train with Liverpool and started dreaming about getting the chance to complete a transfer to the club.
Chidera Ejuke isn’t a name which’d be wholly familiar to many Liverpool fans, but had things worked out differently, he could’ve called Anfield his home.
