Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios took to social media to reflect on the last few years of his career, as he continues to struggle with ongoing injuries. The former Wimbledon runner-up missed another Grand Slam event, and has given no update on when he'll return to competition.

Kyrgios has played just five singles matches on the ATP Tour this season, with his first match this year being a first-round exit at the Brisbane International in January. Subsequently, the Canberra native competed at the Australian Open, his first appearance at a Grand Slam event since the 2022 US Open.

After falling in the first round in Melbourne, the former World No.13 would later suffer another first round loss at Indian Wells; losing to Botic van de Zandschulp. However, Kyrgios would finally get his first win of the 2025 season when he defeated American Mackenzie McDonald at the Miami Open.

Kyrgios would lose to Karen Khachanov in the second round in Miami, and has not competed in a singles match since March. The 30-year old would team up with Frenchman Gael Monfils to play doubles at the DC Open in July, but the charismatic duo would lose in the first round.

Life can change very quickly, says Kyrgios in Instagram post

The Aussie star was hoping to compete at this year's Wimbledon Championships but withdrew due to an injury setback. Kyrgios would work hard to recover in time for the US Open, but was again forced to withdrew after not being medically cleared to compete at Flushing Meadows.

With his injury woes seeming to get the better of him at the moment, Kyrgios took to social media to pour out his feelings in a heartfelt letter.

"This picture reminds me of how things can change so quickly," wrote Kyrgios as he uploaded a picture of himself playing tennis when he was pain-free. “I played my best tennis and was right there knocking on the door of a [Grand] Slam. And suddenly my body broke.
“Sidelined, it was all taken, though it was one of the hardest things, that’s life. Cherish every moment, but at the same time realize that when you have it all figured out, things can change in an instant."
