The next seven-star raid event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has a distinctly wintery theme, and is a huge win for Scarlet players in particular. While Iron Bundle is usually exclusive to Pokémon Violet, everyone will be able to grab one in the upcoming raid event. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Iron Bundle raids.

When does the Iron Bundle raid start?

Unlike some of the other seven-star raid events, Iron Bundle will only be available for one weekend as a special holiday raid. If you don’t want to miss out on catching an Iron Bundle, you’d better be ready to grab it this weekend.

Here’s the dates when you can catch Iron Bundle.

  • From Friday, December 22, 2023, until Sunday, December 24, 2023

7-Star Tera Raid Iron Bundle stats, moves, and ability – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Iron Bundle is known for both its impressive speed, and for its amazing special attack stat. It will likely always be the first to attack, and when it does it will hit hard. It has decent defenses, but its special defense is very low, so you will likely need a Pokémon with good defenses, and also good special attack.

Luckily Iron Bundle doesn’t have a very deep movepool, but we can see it opening with Snowscape and Aurora Veil to boost its defenses as the fight opens. This will likely be enough to protect it until the barrier goes up. Moves like Chilling Water, and Hydro Pump can tear through Fire-types, while Blizzard has the chance to freeze. There is also a good chance that it will also carry Play Rough or Drill Peck to counter Fighting-types.

Here’s Iron Bundle’s set:

The Mightiest Iron Bundle – Level 100

  • Nature – Modest
  • Ability – Quark Drive
  • Item – None
  • Tera type – Ice
  • Move set – Blizzard, Hydro Pump, Play Rough/ Drill Peck, Snowscape, Aurora Veil, Chilling Water, Icy Wind

Best counters for Iron Bundle – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Iron Bundle counters most of the types it’s weak to, which makes it difficult to take down, but here are some of the better options.

Probopass

Probopass has incredible bulk and the chance to overwrite the weather with Sandstorm. This is essential to this set as it will boost Probopass’ special defense and also allow it to deal extra damage with the ability Sand Force. As a Steel-type, it will also be able to deliver a big punch with moves like Heavy Slam, which is strong against Ice-types.

Here’s the set we recommend.

  • Probopass – Level 100
    • Nature – Impish
    • Ability – Sand Force
    • Item – Shell Bell
    • Tera type – Steel
    • Moves – Sandstorm, Heavy Slam, Taunt, Thunder Wave

Gastrodon

Gastrodon is a popular raid 'mon for good reason, it has excellent special defense and can hit back with strong moves. Its ability Storm Drain means that it won’t take damage from Water-type attacks, and they will actually boost Gastrodon’s attack. If you bring two Gastrodon into battle then you can boost attack further by aiming water moves into each other.

Here’s the set we recommend.

  • Gastrodon – Level 100
    • Nature – Bold
    • Ability – Storm Drain
    • Item – Shell Bell
    • Tera type – Water
    • Moves – Rain Dance, Mud-Slap, Muddy Water, Earth Power

Comfey

Comfey won’t be able to take out Iron Bundle on its own, but Triage is an amazing ability, which will allow Comfey’s healing moves to always go first. This is particularly important in a fast raid, as it can be important to get healing in before Iron Bundle gets to move. If you find that your Pokémon doesn’t have the staying power to survive attacks, then bringing a Comfey could be a good idea.

  • Comfey – Level 100
    • Nature – Bold
    • Ability – Triage
    • Item – Big Root
    • Tera type – Water
    • Moves – Helping Hand, Sunny Day, Pollen Puff, Draining Kiss
