The final dungeon is on rotation for Destiny 2’s Rite of the Nine later today. The Prophecy dungeon gets its time in the sun for the next two weeks. While the Prophecy weapons received a perk refresh during Season of the Wish, they got further treatment during Rite of the Nine. The Auto Rifle Prosecutor is first on the docket to see what perks you should chase during your farming.
Prosecutor is a Precision Frame Arc Auto Rifle. The Rite of the Nine version has increased the viability of the Auto Rifle. While the Frame is not the most requested from PvE players, the perks allow for it to be a feature in Endgame content. There are also PvP perks to utilize for the Crucible players.
As with all other Rite of the Nine Weapons, Prosecutor has twelve perks. The left column perks are Attrition Orbs, Dragonfly, Eddy Current, Keep Away, Subsistence, and Zen Moment. The right column has Onslaught, Paracausal Affinity, Rolling Storm, Tap the Trigger, Target Lock, and Voltshot.
Precision Frame Auto Rifles have struggled to keep up with their Rapid-Fire and Adaptive Frame counterparts in PvE. The slow fire rate means you struggle to take down enemies, even if the individual bullets deal more damage. Fortunately, Prosecutor has plenty of perks to help it compete with better frames. It also stands as one of the best Precision Frame Auto Rifles in the game, thanks to its perks.
There are two choices in the left column that players can pick from depending on their preference. Dragonfly is the more fun perk, with the arc explosion able to clear rooms of enemies. However, it tails off as the content becomes more difficult. Attrition Orbs is the more stable perk throughout most content, providing players with the additional utility of extra orbs.
The right column also has player preferences. Whether you prefer Bolt Charge or Jolt determines your perk choice. Rolling Storm is perfect for this Episode, with the potency of Bolt Charge from the Artifact perks. Voltshot will always be consistent, no matter the Episode, and gives Jolt without needing the Arc subclass. Both perks suffer from needing blows to gain the benefits.
Lower Fire Rate Auto Rifles, like Precision Frames, see better use in PvP due to their lower time to kill. Prosecutor has solid perks in each column that boost its viability in Crucible. Zen Moment in the left column boosts the accuracy of the weapon, allowing you to land hits with the Auto Rifle consistently. The best right-column perk is Target Lock. Target Lock is one of the best PvP Perks for Auto Rifles, given that it decreases the time to kill by a significant amount.
When Prophecy launches with Rite of the Nine later today, players can farm the weapon from any of the encounters. With Spire of the Watcher and Ghosts of the Deep having additional chests during opening encounters or transition areas, Prophecy will likely have one as well. The expectation is that it will appear during the Blight section before the Cube encounter. Players can attune to Prosecutor for a higher drop chance and can spend Nonary Manifolds at the Eternity Chest for a chance at getting Prosecutor. There are four versions of the Auto Rifle: Base, Base Holofoil, Adept, and Adept Holofoil. Adept versions can only drop from Ultimatum difficulty.
