Mistral Lift is the only Dawning weapon returning in the 2025 version of the event. The Linear Fusion Rifle bolsters solid perk options. Linear’s are currently struggling to match up to other Heavy weapon archetypes at the moment. The only one thriving is Finality’s Auger since it allows for damage rotations that other Linears do not have. If we see further Linear buffs in the future, they could return to the top.
Mistral Lift is a Void Adaptive Frame Linear Fusion Rifle. As an Adaptive Frame, it has the highest damage total for a Linear Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2. Its second Origin Trait, Veist Stinger, allows it to fire for longer than most other options can.

Column 4
Reload Perks are the go-to for Heavy Weapons. They either allow you to fire for longer or reduce the time spent reloading. Depending on what you are using, Mistral Lift decides your third column perk. Envious Arsenal is better in rotations, while Reconstruction will perform well if you are only firing the Linear. Bait & Switch is the best damage perk option, and will pair well with Envious Arsenal. Unfortunately, Precision Instrument is too low to match Bait & Switch.
Most weapons thrive in PvP, regardless of their perks. They tend to kill a Guardian in one shot. Adaptive Frame Linear’s do struggle more than others, given the burst, but should still do the trick. No Distractions and Butterfly will be the optimal perk combination. However, we do recommend you choose another Heavy weapon if you want to head into the Crucible.
Mistral Lift can drop from completing any Portal activity in Destiny 2, excluding raids and dungeons. You can buy Engrams at Eva Levante for a random Dawning weapon.
