2025 WNBA All-Star Game Captain Breakdown
- Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) gets the crowd excited Tuesday, May 20, 2025, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Atlanta Dream defeated the Indiana Fever, 91-90.

The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game captains have been announced, and they have also drafted their full rosters for the event. Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier are the WNBA All-Star Game captains. Clark and Collier were selected based on fan votes, and they received the most votes of any of the other All-Stars.

With the two highest vote totals in league history, Clark (1,293,526) and Collier (1,176,020) set a new record for fan voting. The top 30 players combined in 2023 (1,171,708), the year before Clark was drafted, received fewer votes than both players did this year.

WNBA All-Star Game Draft

Following their teams’ drafts on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Clark and Collier have finalized their rosters for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game. Clark chose her Indiana Fever teammate Aliyah Boston with the first pick in the first round, which included the starters. Collier, on the other hand, added her Minnesota Lynx teammate Courtney Williams after having the first pick in the second round, which included the reserves.

After the draft was over, trades were allowed, but neither Clark nor Collier wanted to give up any players on their rosters. However, they agreed to switch coaches. Sandy Brondello will coach Team Clark, and Cheryl Reeve will coach Team Collier.

Collier Sends Message

The way Clark and Collier looked changed significantly after they entered the TV programming. Collier was wearing no Lynx clothing, but Clark had on a Fever shirt. Instead, she was wearing a black shirt with a large “U” in the middle. She was representing Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 league that she and Breanna Stewart co-founded. The league ended its first season in March.

As the draft continued, Collier kept shouting out, “Unrivaled.” She even made the “Hooty-hoo” call that her Lunar Owls colleagues made popular earlier this year, and she talked about picking her Unrivaled teammates before discussing adding her Lynx teammates.

WNBPA Collective Bargaining Negotiations

As talks on a new collective bargaining agreement between the players and the WNBA continue, Collier, a vice president in the WNBPA, was making a strong message. Collier and company’s attempts to use their Unrivaled experience as a yardstick are evident from the lack of success of the initial discussions.

“It’s not a conflict of interest yet,” Stewart told ESPN about her and Collier’s dual roles with the union and Unrivaled. “I think it’s just a little bit different. The key takeaways from Unrivaled are the TV deal and its immense significance, as well as the impressive numbers behind it, including three games per week. People were constantly paying attention to it. Whether it’s Phee or me or someone else at Unrivaled, we understand that’s the standard now. That’s what we expect when we come back to the W.”

Conclusion

The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game promises intense competition, standout performances, and treasured memories. The Fever will host All-Star Weekend for the first time in their history on July 18–19 in Indianapolis. The WNBA All-Star Game will take place on Saturday after the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest on Friday. One thing is sure, regardless of whether you support Collier’s strategic powerhouse or Clark’s high-octane team, the WNBA’s future is here.
