The Las Vegas Aces (22-14) took on the Atlanta Dream (21-13) in front of a sold-out crowd at the Michelob ULTRA Arena on Tuesday night.
Las Vegas and Atlanta both come into this game with playoff implications.
The Aces started the first half with some strong defensive pressure on Atlanta forcing a shot clock violation in the opening offensive series for the Dream.
The first quarter was full of both teams going shot-for-shot. To close out the first quarter, Atlanta took the lead 19-18.
“We just gotta keep up our level of intensity,” NaLyssa Smith said between the opening quarters of the game.
In the second quarter, Rhyne Howard collided with Jackie Young at the conclusion of a play, Young was slow to get up, but she made her way back to the court. Both teams continued the fast-paced play to keep up with each other.
It seems as if every game, A’ja Wilson hits another milestone. Against the Dream, A’ja Wilson became the youngest and fastest player to make 2,000 career field goals made.

With 2:23 to go in the first half, the game was tied 35-35. The Aces came out of the timeout ready to fight back. After an A’ja Wilson three-pointer and a Jackie Young free-throw at the line, the Aces ended the half leading 41-40 over the Dream.

In the second half, Las Vegas came out taking the lead early, but Atlanta didn’t go down easy. The Dream went on a slight run and forced two back-to-back turnovers from the Aces to tie the game 48-48 with 6:19 left in the third quarter.

At the 3:37 mark of the third quarter, Brittney Griner took an elbow to the face from NaLyssa Smith. Griner suffered a nosebleed but when on to make her return back to the game.
Las Vegas comes away with their eight straight win over Atlanta, 74-72.
A’ja Wilson scored 34 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 blocks and went 12/24 from the floor.
“It just shows how far we’ve truly come. This has been a great journey, the journey’s not over but just to see us, come to the game, ready and locked in every single night, it’s hard to do that on a consistent basis,” A’ja Wilson said.
The Aces close out their three-game home stand Thursday night against the Phoenix Mercury at 7pm PT.
