Angel Reese Avoids WNBA Punishment After Atlanta Dream Game

Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream defeated the New York Liberty on Monday. They scored their fourth consecutive win, improving their record to 29-14 for the season. The star forward also avoided a punishment from the WNBA.

Reese did not receive a technical foul in the game, and her total this year remains at seven. She is tied with Caitlin Clark and Kahleah Copper for the most techs in the WNBA this season.

The Dream star has avoided a one-game suspension by not reaching eight technical fouls. Even if she gets a tech in their last regular-season game on Thursday, she will not be suspended since the technical foul count resets in the playoffs.

The three-time All-Star finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in the 95-84 victory. Reese recorded her 32nd double-double of the campaign, two days after she became the first player to record 500 rebounds in a season. She also set new marks for most rebounds in a single season (515 and counting) and a single game (26) earlier this year.

Reese has set these records as the WNBA increased the number of regular-season games to 44 since 2025.

Reese and the Dream have a chance to clinch home-court advantage in the first round with another win. They currently hold fourth place in the standings and are peaking at the right time.

Reese avoiding a one-game suspension is crucial to Atlanta’s chances of extending their winning streak. The Dream qualified for the playoffs last year, but lost to the Indiana Fever in the first round.
