The Chicago Sky are coming off a hard-fought loss on Tuesday afternoon, falling 81–79 to the Washington Mystics and dropping to 5–13 on the season.
However, they won’t have much time to dwell on it, as they’re back in action Wednesday night at home against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. Sky forward Angel Reese will look to continue her dominant stretch while helping lead her team to a much-needed win.
Before tipoff, some major news broke Wednesday morning—Reese was officially unveiled as the cover athlete for the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26, taking over from Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, who held the honor last year.
Shortly after the cover reveal, Reese shared a sneak peek of the image, pointing out a key detail: she’s wearing her upcoming signature sneakers with Reebok in the photo. The shoes are set to release next year.
“Of course we do everything BIG,” Reese posted. “Why not debut my signature shoe on the cover of NBA2K?!?”

For any basketball player who grows up loving the sport, gracing the cover of one of the most iconic sports video games in the world is a major personal milestone. For NBA 2K26, Angel Reese will share the spotlight with none other than Oklahoma City Thunder MVP and NBA champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is featured on the NBA edition.
As for Reese, she’s certainly earned the honor with everything she’s accomplished across her rookie year and into her sophomore campaign.
She’s been named a WNBA All-Star for the second consecutive season, led the league in rebounding as a rookie, and continues to break new ground game after game. She’s currently riding a six-game streak of grabbing 15 or more rebounds—the longest active streak in WNBA history.
Entering Wednesday night’s game, Reese is averaging 13.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 41.5% from the field and 79.8% from the free throw line.
