The ongoing apparel brand wars added another big name from the WNBA as Caitlin Clark's "rival" DiJonai Carrington got a big deal today.
Carrington reached national attention during the 2024 WNBA season for an apparent eye-poke she delivered to Clark during a game between the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun. There was a massive backlash to her actions.
But amid that backlash, Carrington has found a lucrative opportunity. On Friday, Reebok announced that Carrington has joined their Reebok Basketball brand.
"We would like to welcome Dijonai Carrington to the Reebok Basketball family. Dijonai’s edge makes her the definition of a Reebok athlete. Welcome to the Future of Reebok Basketball," Reebok said in their announcement this morning.
The news was a delight to Clark's other rival, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. The WNBA All-Star has her own deal with Reebok.
Taking to X, Reese congratulated Carrington on getting her deal and welcomed her to the Reebok family.
"Welcome to the family sis!" Reese wrote, tagging Carrington while adding some emojis.

As you might expect, the response to Carrington's deal was mixed. Fans of Carrington (and haters of Clark) loved the deal while Carrington's haters and Clark's diehard fans were appalled by the move.
"I love this for Nai!!" one user wrote.
"Reebok seems to hire only the worst !" another declared.
"She deserves nice things! Hope Reebok welcomes new designers so the baddies can have cute shoes. (please liberate Angel, DiJonai, et. al from Premier Road VI’s!)"
"Lmao, Rebook has no level. First, angel brick and now, dijonai trash."
"About time they announced this. Congratulations Nai."
Despite the controversy over her confrontation with Clark this past season, Carrington went on to enjoy the best season of her career. She finished the season averaging 12.7 points, 1.6 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game - all career highs - in her first year as a full-time starter.
But the Sun decided to trade Carrington in the offseason. In February, she was traded to the Dallas Wings as part of a four-team trade.
Now she has a chance to be the star of the show in a team that failed to make the playoffs last year.
