The Indiana Fever are currently at .500 this season with a record of 4-4. They suffered back-to-back losses against the Golden State Valkyries and Portland Fire, respectively.
Caitlin Clark has struggled in the last two games. She had a total of 22 points in 4-of-19 shooting and 2-of-8 from three. Clark also had nine fouls and six turnovers in her last two outings.
In their loss against Portland, Clark and Head Coach Stephanie White had a heated discussion during a timeout.
The two-time WNBA All-Star discussed the situation at their media availability during Monday's practice. In the context of the heated exchange with White, Clark was asked whether she had ever seen a line and thought she had gone too far.
Clark immediately answered, “Absolutely.”
“I'm not perfect, and I know I'm not perfect,” Clark told reporters. “I go back and watch every game, and it's been that way since college.”
The Fever star went on to admit that the pressure she faces day to day can affect her behavior on the court.
“I know there's an immense amount of pressure, and sometimes that pressure can get to you and frustrate you in different ways,” she said. “It can certainly get to you when you're down 15 points.”
Clark also admitted her shortcomings and knows she has to do better.
“That's on me,” said the two-time All-Star. “I have to be a lot better as well, too, in a lot of different scenarios.
“I'm not speaking to any sort of scenario that's happened over the last couple of games, but I want to win. This team wants to win.”
Indiana has the chance to bounce back in their next game. The Fever will host Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.
