Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are in the midst of an early-season slump.

The Fever have logged back-to-back losses, including Saturday’s deflating 100-84 loss to the Portland Fire. Clark had her worst game of the year, finishing with just six points on 1-of-7 shooting. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year battled foul trouble all game long, but she was able to somewhat salvage her performance with six assists, two rebounds and a steal in 22 minutes of play.

Nevertheless, it was far from enough to lift the Fever. They dropped to 4-4 on the season as they continue to struggle to firmly establish their footing early on in the campaign.

Caitlin Clark announces release of new Nike sneakers

Clark took to social media on Monday night to share an exciting announcement for her fans. This comes in the form of her new Nike Kobe 5 Proto Player Edition (PE).

Clark posted photos of the new sneakers on her Instagram stories.

“Took my love for game night and turned it into a PE,” she wrote. Launching on SNKRS tomorrow.”

As Clark stated in her caption, she is a big fan of board games. One of her favorites is Scrabble, which is the name of her new Nike PE.

Clark’s latest PE comes in a predominantly off-white colorway. It is accented by teal overlays around the toe, midfoot and outsole. The bright coral heel panel featuring the Black Mamba logo adds a pop of color.

The pair will drop on Tuesday and will retail at $190.

Clark has already previously debuted the pair for a WNBA game. It remains to be seen whether she will wear it again in their next game.

The Fever return to action on Thursday to try to snap their two-game skid. They face a tough test against Angel Reese and the 5-2 Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
