Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark emerged as one of basketball's most iconic figures while playing for the University of Iowa. The star guard never won a national championship. However, she led the Iowa Hawkeyes to two consecutive NCAA title games.

During her four seasons at Iowa, Clark became the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer with 3,951 points. Her record-breaking career established her as one of the best players in college history.

Besides her trophies, Clark placed great value on the strong bonds she built at Iowa. She remains close to her former teammates, coaches and staff. Among them is Brandee Saunders, the director of social media and digital strategy, in the university's athletic department.

On Wednesday, Saunders shared a personal milestone on her Instagram account. She posted a photo of baby shoes and ultrasound images to announce her pregnancy. The image also included matching baseball “mom” and “dad” caps and a sign reading “Baby Saunders December 2026.”

Clark was quick to celebrate the news.

"Congrats!!!!" the WNBA star wrote in the comments section, which the soon-to-be mother liked.

Saunders managed the digital campaigns that helped make Clark a nationally recognized name. Her team produced social media content highlighting the 6-foot guard’s biggest college moments. The two worked closely together throughout Clark’s time with the Hawkeyes, and their closeness has remained evident online.

Saunders started her Iowa athletics career as a student intern in 2011. She rose through the ranks before taking the director of social media role in 2022. Saunders, formerly Brandee Britt, married Caleb Saunders in May 2025, and they are now expecting a child.

Clark now plays professionally for the Fever. Indiana selected her with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

In her debut season, the Iowa native broke several rookie records, including most points and most three-pointers made. She also helped the team reach its first playoff appearance since 2016. Her strong performance earned her the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

The 24-year-old guard continues to lead the Fever in their championship pursuit in her third season with the team.
