It didn't take long for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever to get things going to start the 2025 WNBA season, taking down the Chicago Sky 93-58 and moving to 1-0.
On Tuesday, the Fever looked for their second win of the new season, facing Rhyne Howard and the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Throughout the first half of Tuesday night's game, the WNBA officials made some questionable calls that were not in favor of Indiana. In fact, head coach Stephanie White had to use up both of her challenges in the second quarter alone, leading to both calls getting overturned.
Even the Dream were forced to use a challenge late in the first half, once again having the officials change the call.
"This officiating crew has been bad," Fieldhouse Files' Scott Agness wrote on X. "Bonner and Clark are furious. Fever coach Steph White having to use a second challenge already because they've messed up another out-of-bounds call."
Clark's boyfriend, Butler men's basketball assistant coach Connor McCaffery, was in attendance for the second-straight game to begin the season. Sitting courtside, McCaffery also had a solid view of the game and wasn't a big fan of their 17 first-half calls as well.
He left a message for the WNBA officials on social media.
"Good to see the W refs in mid season form," McCaffery posted on X.
In the Fever's season-opening win against the Chicago Sky, McCaffery was in attendance alongside Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and his girlfriend, Jade Jones. However, Haliburton was not at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the Dream game, heading to New York City for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Knicks on Wednesday.
Following Tuesday's game, Indiana will take on the Dream yet again on Thursday, this time traveling to Atlanta.
