Chicago Sky Announce Unfortunate Angel Reese News Before Atlanta Dream Game

The Chicago Sky are looking to get back in the win column after falling to the Minnesota Lynx on Monday night. It has been a difficult start to the season for Chicago under first-year head coach Tyler Marsh, as the team now sits at 7-14 on the season which ranks second-to-last in the Eastern Conference standings.

This poor start for the Sky has been despite another All-Star campaign from second-year forward Angel Reese. After making the team her rookie season, Reese is again an All-Star in year two. The former LSU standout is averaging 14.0 points and a league-leading 12.6 rebounds.

Reese has seen her efficiency climb in recent weeks, as her field goal percentage now sits at 44.6% after what was a difficult start to the year for her offensively. She has also seemingly been playing through some injury issues, as Reese has appeared on recent injury reports.

Unfortunately for the Sky, Reese has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Dream with a leg injury. The team announced this via its official injury report on Tuesday evening.

For Reese, this will be her first missed game all season. She appeared in 34 straight games her rookie season before a wrist injury cut her year short. It is unclear if this injury is one that will sideline Reese for multiple games, but for now Chicago will be without its second-year star for the afternoon affair against Atlanta.

Reese's next opportunity to play will come next Tuesday in a rematch with Minnesota.
