Final Injury Report for Valkyries-Storm: Will Gabby Williams, Ezi Magbegor Play?

The Golden State Valkyries are on the road on Friday night as they travel to take on the Seattle Storm in their 2026 WNBA season opener.

Golden State enters Friday’s game looking to start the season off with a victory and build off their inaugural season last year that saw them post a 23-21 record and make the playoffs.

On the other side, Seattle is also looking to build off last season with a victory in their season opener after they finished with a 23-21 record and made the playoffs last season.

While both teams are looking to pick up a victory in Friday night’s 2026 season opener, both squads may be without multiple key players due to injuries.

Valkyries Injury Report: Will Gabby Williams Play?

For the Valkyries, they have two players listed on their injury report, though Gabby Williams is not one of them.

Of course, Williams missed Golden State’s only preseason game due to rest but she is off the injury report and will be available for their season opener against the Storm.

Golden State has ruled out Iliana Rupert due to her being pregnant and her status for the season is in jeopardy, which caused the Valkyries to file for a replacement contract on Thursday.

The Valkyries have also ruled out Juste Joycte as she is away from the team due to international commitments.

Storm Injury Report: Will Ezi Magbegor Play?

On the other side, the Storm have four players listed on their injury report, including center Ezi Magbegor.

Seattle has ruled out Magbegor due to a right foot injury that she suffered while playing for Australia in the 2026 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and she is expected to miss at least six weeks.

The Storm have also ruled out Katie Lou Samuelson due to a right knee injury while Tiana Mair is out due to a coach’s decision.

Awa Fam has also been ruled out as she is away from the team due to international commitments as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 draft is expected to miss the first few games of the season.
