It was an afternoon to remember for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. After missing five games with a lower leg injury, the second-year guard out of the University of Iowa delivered her best and most complete performance of the 2025 season in front of a sold-out home crowd.

Clark lit up the scoreboard and dominated all over the court, helping the Fever upset the defending champion New York Liberty 102-88 on Saturday.

After the game, Robert Griffin III didn’t hold back his praise for the superstar: “Caitlin Clark is the greatest women’s 3-point shooter ever, and it’s only her 2nd year in the WNBA.”

Griffin doubled down with another bold message: "Caitlin Clark just went CRAZY on the best team in the WNBA. First game back, 7 threes, 32 points, 9 assists, 8 rebs and a win over the top-ranked New York Liberty to give them their first loss of the season. There is NO DOUBT who the most exciting player in the WNBA is."

The game was close in the first half, with Indiana leading 53-50 at the break. The Fever pulled away in the second half, winning the third quarter 27-21 and closing it out in the fourth 22-17.

Indiana had four other players score in double figures. Kelsey Mitchell led the supporting cast with 22 points, Lexie Hull added 14, and both Sydney Colson and Aliyah Boston scored 10.

The Liberty got a big performance from Sabrina Ionescu, who dropped 34 points and handed out four assists.

The loss was New York’s first of the 2025 season. Indiana moved to 5-5 and will stay home to host the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday. The Liberty will return home to face the Atlanta Dream, also on Tuesday.
