It’s not just the players who have welcomed the WNBA All-Star break with excitement. The coaches are also looking forward to some much-needed time off, as the WNBA turns its attention to the All-Star festivities this coming weekend.

This is certainly the case for Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White. Her team gets five days off following their 123-88 blowout win over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday — their third victory in a row. They don’t return to action until Tuesday against the Seattle Storm.

Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell will all take part in the All-Star Game on Saturday at United Center. Other players on the squad, such as Lexie Hull and Raven Johnson, have activities lined up in Chicago during the All-Star weekend.

Coach White, however, is ready to sit back and relax.

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White shares All-Star break plans

White spoke to reporters following Wednesday’s dominant win. She was asked if she’s looking forward to the break and what her plans are. For White, it’s all about enjoying the free time.

“It allows me to disappear for a little while, which will be great,” she said. “Spend some time with my family, just decompress for a little while, because it gets crazy.

“It’s a gauntlet when we come back. It’s crazy that this is the easier part of the season in terms of travel and cadence and all of those things.

“Really, just try to decompress, maybe read a book, go watch our All-Stars, and then get back to work.”

White doesn’t have much time, though. Nevertheless, a five-day break in the middle of the season is nothing short of a luxury.

The Fever are 17-10 at the midway point of the campaign. As White said, things are going to be much tougher after the break.
