Watch: Caitlin Clark takes hard hit

The abuse Caitlin Clark takes during a WNBA game is real. Despite already being the face of the league, and bringing in new viewers, other players do not respect her, leading to hard fouls.

In the Indiana Fever’s latest game against the Connecticut Sun, things got chippy. Clark appeared to be hit across the face at one point, but her defender, Jacy Sheldon, disagreed and exchanged a few words with her.

This led to Clark pushing Sheldon, who retaliated by pushing her back. After the shoving, another Sun player, Marina Mabrey, came from behind Clark and shoved her hard to the floor.

This scuffle led to Sheldon receiving a Flagrant 1 foul and Mabrey was hit with a technical. Clark was given a technical foul as well and Tina Charles of the Sun was also hit with a tech.

Fever clinch spot in Commissioner’s Cup championship game

The game was more than just a mere regular season game. Indiana had a chance to clinch a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup championship game with a victory.

The Fever did just that. Indiana won 88-71, with Clark scoring 20 points on 6-12 shooting, including 4-6 from three-point range.

The Fever will now play on July 1 for the Cup final against the Minnesota Lynx.
