According to the Las Vegas Aces, center A’ja Wilson is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Washington Mystics with a right wrist injury.
In the Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty, the reigning MVP Wilson suffered a right wrist injury at the 4:13 mark in the second quarter. Wilson tried to play through the pain for just a few more minutes.
Wilson suffered the injury on a hard drive to the basket. She subbed out at 2:22 and did not return to the game. She underwent an MRI Wednesday morning to determine the severity of the injury.
Aces coach Becky Hammon said, “She absolutely does not want to sit out or go out of the game, but then there’s a reality of physicality that happens out there.”
“Big picture, our season is bigger than just this one game, so we want to make sure she’s not putting herself at any risk of injuring anything or damaging anything,” Hammon continued.
Before leaving the game, Wilson scored 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists while only playing 14 minutes.
The Aces continue their five-game road trip against the Washington Mystics on Thursday, July 10 at 4:30pm PT
