WNBA Announces Paige Bueckers News

Paige Bueckers led the Dallas Wings to their sixth straight win on Saturday. The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup gold medalist scored a game-high 26 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists. She also had three steals and one block in an 87-82 home win against the Phoenix Mercury.

Arike Ogunbowale also chipped in 22 points and six assists in the win.

The reigning Rookie of the Year set a new scoring milestone on Saturday. The WNBA took to social media to announce the news.

“History. Made. ✔️ Paige Bueckers has scored the most points (1515) by any player through their first two seasons in WNBA history!” the league posted on X.

The Dallas star has surpassed four-time WNBA champion Seimone Augustus (1,513 points) and three-time WNBA scoring champion Cynthia Cooper (1,301 points).

It is important to note, however, that Bueckers has the advantage of playing more games. Starting in 2025, Bueckers’ rookie year, the WNBA increased its regular-season games to 44. Augustus set her mark in 68 games, while Cooper played in 58 contests to achieve her scoring record.

Nevertheless, the two-time WNBA All-Star has always been known as a prolific scorer at every level she played. Bueckers achieved this scoring milestone in 75 WNBA games. She is not done either, as Dallas has two games left.

The Wings will finish the regular season on the road. They will travel to Phoenix on Monday to face the Mercury again. Dallas will then close out the season against the Seattle Storm at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday.

Bueckers and Co. currently have a 26-16 record and are sixth in the standings.
