Becky Lynch Sounds Off on Hulk Hogan Comparison

When Becky Lynch attacked Bayley and stole her spot at WrestleMania 41, the fans didn’t like it. They started comparing her to Hulk Hogan, who used to throw his political weight around backstage and get things changed to the way he liked it. The best example was WrestleMania IX, when he appeared at the end of the show and immediately won the WWF title from Yokozuna.

Lynch didn’t appreciate the comparison to Hogan, calling him “the scummiest person on earth.” However, Becky may be having a change of heart … not about what kind of person Hogan is, but about whether to present herself as someone who would do anything to get ahead in pro wrestling.

After losing to women's Intercontinental champion Lyra Valkyria at Backlash, Lynch unleashed a tirade on wrestling fans, seeming to reveal her inner Hulk Hogan-like tendencies.

This could mark another major shift in Becky’s career. Her star rose when she turned against Charlotte Flair and reached its apex at WrestleMania 35. She became “Becky Two Belts” by defeating Ronda Rousey and Flair in the first women’s main event in WrestleMania history.

Becky is also pushing back on an alleged double standard by refusing to step aside for younger talent at the age of 38. Many of the top male stars in WWE are in their late 30s to mid-40s. So if Becky can continue forward with this take-no-prisoners character, she could return to the top of the women’s division instead of competing for the secondary championship.

Of course, Bayley is likely to come back and stand in her way.
