On his farewell tour, Cena made his first Undisputed WWE Championship defense by defeating Randy Orton at Backlash. There was then an angle where Cena put R-Truth through a table at the press conference after the event. A match between Cena and Truth is rumored for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Tampa, Florida on May 24 but has not been officially announced.
Cena will retire from the ring this December with his last match taking place in Boston.
Money in the Bank qualifying is set to begin on SmackDown this week. The winner of the men’s ladder match will be in position to challenge Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship whenever they want to.
