Mike Lowell often talked his way into the lineup during his first three seasons with the Red Sox. J.D. Drew WAR and money earned

As a Red Sox fan I have heard nothing but the complaints of JD Drew's contract and how much he earns. Complaints about low homer totals, batting averages under .280 and the injuries. When we look at Fangraphs though Drew has not been as bad an investment as most would think.

Red Sox put struggling RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka on disabled list with mild shoulder strain

Boston Red Sox (42-27) at Washington Nationals (20-47), 7:05 p.m.

A suddenly-thin rotation might mean Boston Red Sox hurler Brad Penny isn't going anywhere. It doesn't hurt that he has been pitching well either.
