Charleston Southern sure is consistent. After losing to Florida by 59 points in week one, they dropped a game to USF by 59 points in week three. This is a bittersweet win for the Bulls as senior quarterback Matt Grothe’s career came to an end. One week after becoming the Big East’s career leader in total offense, #8’s college career ended with a torn ACL. Grothe went down with what was first hoped to be a knee sprain. On Sunday, it was confirmed Grothe had a torn ligament and would be hanging up his USF jersey.Replacing Grothe was redshirt freshman B.J. Daniels who finished the night with almost identical passing statistics as the senior. Grothe went 11-of-14 for 149 yards and two touchdowns while Daniels went 10-of-13 with 149 yards and one touchdown. Daniels was impressive, also adding 105 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
