Great. Another favorite player I'll be forced to hate. There are rumors floating around the internet that San Diego Padres righty Jake Peavy is about to head to Chicago. Only, he'll be donning the South Side Pinstripes, not surrounded by ivy as expected. The deal (contingent upon Peavy waiving his no-trade clause) supposedly includes left-hander Clayton Richard and 22-year-old southpaw Aaron Poreda. However, some reports say the deal is not imminent.
If I were a White Sox fan, I'd be pretty fired up about now. The 17-22 team could use a boost to their rotation, whose inconsistencies this season pretty much end with Mark Buehrle.
We'll keep you posted.

The Peavy Dilemma: A Play in One Act
I’ve written a short, one-act, one-man play based on today’s rumor that the only thing standing between Jake Peavy and a trade to the White Sox is Peavy’s approval. I will play the part of Jake Peavy.
Bugs&Cranks presents “The Peavy Dilemma.”
I'll take the Encinitas Cliffs, thanks.

Remembering F.P. Santangelo for no reason at all
I went to Baseball Reference today to click on the random player page, hoping to find someone to write about. Normally I don’t write about steroid users but since Jake Peavy is going to the crosstown White Sox and Santangelo was a noted Cub killer I couldn’t resist.
When I was young, probably 12 or 13 [...]
Taking a Moment to Recognize Mark Buehrle: The Most Underappreciated Ace in Baseball
With another key start last night in which he stopped a White Sox losing streak, Mark Buehrle proved once again his importance as the decade-long ace of the White Sox pitching staff. He also continues to be the most underrated and underappreciated ace in Major League Baseball.

The White Sox have agreed in principle to a trade that would send former Cy Young award winner Jake Peavy to the White Sox for pitching prospect Aaron Poreda and pitcher Clayton Richard, among others. Peavy, who has a full no trade clause, must decide if he wants to play in Chicago.
Peavy could choose to accept the trade just to get out of San Diego. While he is the longest tenured...
Peavy to White Sox?
FOXSports.com is reporting that the White Sox are making a push for Padres ace Jake Peavy. Peavy, who would have to waive his no-trade clause, reportedly met with manager Bud Black to discuss the possible trade. Peavy seemed open to the idea when I interviewed him, but he never directly said that to me. This trade is no guarantee, especially because Peavy has to decide if he wants...
Oh For The Long One
When the weather warms up, and the Sox play at home, the ball tends to leave the yard. And that my friends, is enough to cure the offensive woe's of these Chicago White Sox.We all know that this team is full of power sluggers, like Thome, Dye, Quintin, and Konerko. It only makes sense, that when the ball starts flying in a home run friendly park like US Cellular, that crooked...
