As soon as I saw it happen, I knew it would cost the Vikings dearly.Brett Favre threw a touchdown pass to Sidney Rice with more than 6 minutes to play to put the Vikings up on the Steelers, 16-13, only it didn't count, as one of the referees threw a flag on tight end Jeff Dugan, claiming he had tripped James Harrison as Favre threw the pass. The replays, showed that it was the wrong call, and the Fox announcers agreed as well. And sure enough, on the next play, Favre was stripped of the ball and it was returned for a Pittsburgh touchdown, and instead of 17-13 Vikings, it was 20-10 Steelers, and it sent the game in a whole new direction.Granted, you can't play football in a vacuum, but it may very well have cost the Vikings their seventh straight win, as Pittsburgh went on to a 27-17 victory. It was a tough game all day, as it was 10-7 Pittsburgh at the half.Percy Harvin then returned the next kickoff 89 yards for a TD to make it 20-16. (Did anyone else notice on the kickoff t...

Favre meltdown vs. Steelers a fluke or sign of things to come?
First came the fumble, returned for a touchdown. Then the pick, also brought back for a score. Brett Favre's two turnovers cost the Vikings, and Pete Prisco is wondering if it's the beginning of a trend.
Steelers stun Vikings behind Favre’s late gaffes
LaMarr Woodley returned Brett Favre’s fumble 77 yards for a touchdown and Keyaron Fox ran back an interception 82 yards for another score during the closing minutes, and the Pittsburgh Steelers turned three major defensive stands into a 27-17 victory on Sunday to hand the Minnesota Vikings their first loss.
With Favre return next, Packers flick aside Browns
The Browns were no distraction. The Green Bay Packers can now focus on Brett. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, Ryan Grant rushed for 148 yards and Green Bay warmed up for Brett Favre's first visit back to Lambeau Field next week with a 31-3 laugher Sunday over the Cleveland Browns.
Cheer first, jeer later
This is pretty simple, Green Bay fans: When Brett Favre, aka No.?4, enters Lambeau Field late Sunday in his white Vikings uniform - intent on working his magic for the purple-helmeted enemy - this is what you should do, please. Stand up in front of your seat, put your hands together and clap. And whistle. And then clap some more.

Capers to play it safe
A lot has changed for the Packers defense since it played against the Vikings and Brett Favre Oct. 5. What hasn't changed, however, is Dom Capers' belief that he did the right thing defending the Vikings' score-a-minute offense with caution in the first meeting.

Steelers goal-line stand lead to 27-17 win over Vikings
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings were anything but perfect.
NFL: Explain this to me
The Minnesota Vikings had a first and goal from the 1/2 yard line, but apparently they have turned the playcalling duties back over to Brian Billick. How else do you explain a team that has Adrian Peterson in the backfield, throwing the ball on second and third down and then settling for a field goal?
While I'm ranting here, I thought I'd irritate the Steelers fans with...
Refs & Turnovers Doom Vikes
The Minnesota Vikings fell to 6-1 after losing 27-17 in Pittsburgh. The Vikes were jobbed big time by the refs on Sidney Rice’s touchdown catch in the fourth quarter to go ahead. The refs called a tripping penalty on tight end, Jeff Dugan. On the next play, Favre was sacked and fumbled the ball. Lamar Woodley of Pittsburgh took it 77 yards for a touchdown to put the Steelers up...
