This Eagles season seems to get weirder by the day. It has already been filled with a quarterback carousel, the Michael Vick controversy and a mountain of injuries and now the Eagles are turning back the clock: former Eagle Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Trotter was brought in for a workout today. Yeah, that isn't a typo and this isn't a post from three years ago, the Birds really took a look at Trotter. The story was originally reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and the Eagles have since confirmed the story, so the question now is what do we read into this workout? Are the Eagles really considering bringing Trotter back or are they simply letting an old friend get some practice in? Is the team really that desperate at middle linebacker that they would bring back a guy who hasn't played in the league since 2007?Let's hope the Eagles aren't serious about bringing Trotter back. As much as I like the guy, the Birds gave up on him several years ago and it's n...

just heard this on CSN. Funny thing is, I was listening to 610wip a few weeks ago which Trotter was doing the show along with someone else and a caller asked Trot how good of shape he was in and Trot answered by saying that he is in excellent shape, and feels great after getting surgery after his stint with TB. I would love to have Trotter back if hes still got something left.

It Trot came back Id be in Heaven

Hes not that old. He might not be able to cover premier RB and TE bue he could be a solid plater on 1st and 2nd down. Hey Ray lewis still does it why not Trot? I always thought when Trotter was playing his best he was just a notch below Lewis. Hacksaw reynolds played for 49ers so can Trotter.

Run defense is fine. I guess the vet leadership would be worth it alone. Someone to rally the troops.

I know R. Cunningham is coming to town, maybe want to swing him by for a tryout too? Trotter would be a welcomed vet for the youth on the team!

Going to Randalls signing at KOP mall tommorow. I am Trying to hit Freddie too.
-
suppposedly his knees are GONE! but.. watever, if our Eagles are looking at Trot , our defense is done.
-
no, it just means they don`t think gaither is the man in the middle against the run. and maybe it`s a leadership thing. with dawkins gone maybe they feel he can rally the troops like dawk used to do. i like the idea, IF he is anywhere near what he used to be.
-
He used to be OK. They let him go, because they thought Gaither was better!!!!!!!
-
they were wrong.
-
Bring back The Axe Man!
-
I hear they have Freddie Mitchel on line 2
-
ha ha.

Pretty stunned here.

i'm with khollen on this one!!! i'm thinking they feel they need a vocal leader to motivate the young guys!!! when they let dawk leave for the rockies it left a big void to fill!!! also gaither is better suited for the will spot!!! trotter just had his knees cleaned out and should be ok against the run!!! move gaither in the nickle spot for coverage!!!

How can Trott have anything left? It's been like 2 years since he played.

he's 32 which isnt old but his knees are i think he may be able to play in situational downs who knows?
-
If he plays 1 out of 3 downs, we might be able to use Gaither on special teams more. Gaither was a beast on ST. not that were signing Trot or anything.

Could the Eagles' Best Run Defense Be "Trot"-ting Beneath Their Nose?
If Jeremiah Trotter is even anything remotely close to the linebacker he was two years ago, then the answer to my headline is "yes."
If you haven’t heard, apparently the Eagles brought Jeremiah Trotter in for a workout this week. Much like with Jon Runyan already this fall, it seems to be more of a case of “let’s see what you can do,” rather than...
Vick, Favre and Your Week Three 'Are You Blacked Out?' Map-a-thon
We'll start week three with a congratulatory pat on the back for the city of St. Louis. Sure your baseball team will be popping division-winning champagne as early as tonight, but you should raise a glass to yourselves as well, for the Rams game against the Packers this weekend is inexplicably not blacked out in your area. Well, perhaps that is actually quite explicable. Most...

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Three Key Matchups
Coaches in the NFL don’t care if a win is ugly, a win is a win. Right now the Kansas City Chiefs wouldn’t care if their win resembled a three-eyed mountain goat with a unibrow, but unfortunately the opponents don’t get any easier for KC in the immediate future.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been a mainstay among the NFC elite for the past half dozen seasons, but are amidst some...
