More Valuable To The Eagles: Westbrook or McNabb?

Who will play a bigger part in the Eagles success this year? I think the key is a healthy, dominant McNabb. Quarterback is the key.

Could the Eagles survive better if Westbrook or McNabb went down with injury? I would have to say we could deal with an injury to Westbrook better, as I think we have some depth in the backfield. I don't have much faith yet in Kolb and Feeley throws to many picks. Just a curious thought.

Thats a tough one! With Westbrook down teams no longer have a huge threat they have to worry about. We all know how electric Westbrook can get at any moment. If McNabb went down, well I guess we would have to see how prepared Kolb is for the NFL.

When B-West went down in the NY game, Buck ran for over 100 yards in less then 20 carries. We lost because Mcnabb waa on his back every other play.

I would have to go with Mcnabb here I have no faith in Kolb, he looked completely lost in thr pre-season as well as that Lions game when he came in and just stunk it up, he's a bum need to address a backup for the future

Brian Westbrook has been said to be the best player on the Eagles, and there are many facts to back that up. But to say that Donovan McNabb isn't just as valuable to this franchise is just ludicrous!

I know a lot of bitter McNabb haters saw the 2006 season and how the Birds won with Westbrook and without Donovan. So that gave them proof in their eyes that B-West is the better player.

Which just isn't true.

The reason this team won without McNabb was due to the Eagles having a suitable number two QB in Jeff Garcia (Not a better QB at all!). So when the ball is not in Brian's hands, Jeff Garcia could manage the offense well enough until the ball was placed back into the hands of 36.

Had McNabb had a suitable back up to Brian Westbrook in 2003, the birds probably would have defeated the Panthers and gone onto the super bowl.

So in conclusion Donovan could have just as well won without B-West if he was giving a suitable replacement.

AKA Buckhalter.

if westbrook goes down we are in trouble. Garcia proved that other qb's can come in and win and give us a chance to win as long as bwest is healthy. not having a suitable backup hurt us in 03 and 05 when mcnasty went down but nothing was worse then not having bwest ion the nfc championship game against the panthers!!! id prefer if neither one of them went down and we handle our buisness

westbrook is the best on the team but mcnabbs health means more

McNabb is obviously a top QB when healthy, but Westbrook has got to be MVP of your team. Look at what Garcia did for you guys in '06 when McNabb went down. Mostly because of Westbrook. Not likely that either one will play 16 games in a season from here on out though.

I think no doubt Westbrook. Mcnabb is past his prime and doesnt have and great Wide Recievers and westbrook is very underated and is one of the three best runinb backs in the game!

westbrook is the best on the team period and is the most valuable player to that offense

If Mcnabb goes down we have Kolb, who may be good, but we don't know. If B-West goes down, we have an experienced Vet in Buck who has proven he can come in and produce.

Buckhalter has not proven he can come in and carry the load. That aside, every offensive play has the ball touching McNabb's hands. The offense changes when another QB comes in. I don't know if we have the receivers to keep up with a slimmed down offense. I would have to say that McNabb is more important because of the position he plays.

people need to realize that buck is a legit r.b. the problem is he cant protect mcnabb when needed. but for any game i would have to say mcnabb is more important when 100%. but westbrook is awesome.it comes down to when mcnabb and westbrook are both healthy at 100% we have more options behind westbrook than we do behind mcnabb. garcia was a proven q.b. that knew how to take a team to the playoffs. how did we fair with westbrook and mcmahon in 05?

Westbrook is the clear answer. Did you even need to ask? McNabb is amazing, but losing a guy like Westbrook would cripple any team.

westbrook by far!!!! he carries our entire offense!!! he gives 200% and most of all he never cries!!!
the dude is all heart !!!! he dont throw up in big games either!!!!

easy.... example.....

2005 season.... any self respecting eagles fan will tell u that 2005 was 1 of the most sickening season theyv ever watched.... who was out? Mcnabb..... westbrook was in most of the games.... and was basically a non factor... so much so that they took him out of a 42-0 loss to the seahawks so he wouldnt get hurt in a pointless game..... but iv watched pleanty of games where buck has stepped in and the offense still moves.... but dont discount West..... he is the beast of this league and with the right mixture of offense this dude will light u up and is the most important player when it comes to being an elite team... but being a competetive franchise falls squarly on the shoulder of Mcnabb.... example.... Pats... Seahawks 2007.... who started? A.J. Feeley..... how many of those games did we win? west was in both games.... would Mcnabb have thrown those interceptions at the end of the game like that.... last time i checked he is 1 of the most accurate qbs throwing the least if not close to the least interception to td ratio in the league.... Mcnabb is the base.... west is the game breaker....

NO, i forgot who said this but whoever did this is to your credit when you said whenever a backup eagle QB starts the team goes o shit and then they try hard and make themselves seem better when its mcnabb they go let him get sacked, well they were absolutely right only b west is man enough to stick by his QB and the Ds got mcnabbs back (even sheldon) runyan needs to shut the $uck up and block his QB that said west has been more valuable these last 2 ytears but mcnabb takes the crown over the last decade

well put dude 4ndy

westbrook no doubt you saw against the giants last year what they did to the eagles offense without westbrook and i know part of it was justice was in there but the giants d line was able to just rush straight up the field without having to fear westbrook slipping out on the edge and gaining alot of yards so westbrook for sure and i mean feeley didnt play that bad i mean he was playing an undeafted patriots team
