(AP Photo/Matt Slocum)With Kevin Kolb starting the game for the Eagles, most expected the Saints to come in to Philly and hang an L on the Birds. What wasn't expected, however, was that Kolb had little to do with why the Eagles lost the game. Instead, poor defensive play, bad special teams play and a litany of penalties led the Eagles to get crushed by the Saints, 48-22.Kolb held his own in his first NFL start, completing 31 of 51 passes for 391 yards and 2 touchdowns. While he did have t...

i happen to disagree. If kolb proved one thing today its that he isnt a #1 QB in this league. Lets just hope Reids arrogance doesnt prevail and he throws away easy games trying to prove he made a good pick 3 years ago. If Mcnabb isnt ready you must go with Vick or Garcia.

Why because he threw for 391 yards? Give him a break, he obviously made some mistakes but he made a lot of good plays as well. This was his first start. I expect more good things to come.
    • DMSUPER5
I agree. While I would rather have McNabb back in there, Kolb is the way to go right now. He showed a lot of good things today.

Kolb played alright at times but at other times he did not, bottom line is this team will go nowhere this season as long as Donovan is out; not sure how successful this team will be with Kolb as the starter. Far as good things ta come, if u don't mind waiting another 3-4 years from now then hey u may get those "more good things ta come" but as for right now, Eagles NEED McNabb back ASAP!

hollywoodeagle... ur dumb he played very well 4 his first start the D, special teams, and some bad calls by the refs killed the game 4 us not kolb he played very well 2day and impressed me... i have never been a kolb fan but i have a lil bit more respect 4 him now and could c him being a starter in the nfl maybe not in philly but he definatly could b if he keeps up the good work we saw 2day... but i still think mcnabb is the starter and he is the best chance of bringing a sb 2 philly
  • hollywoodeagle
Hey experiment some other time. This team will eventually be old so they better win now.

Don't get me wrong, I want McNabb starting again as soon as possible. You can't deny that Kolb had a good game, though
  • hollywoodeagle
I dont think eagles should start a rebuilding process now. They should hand over the reigns to a pro bowler if McNabb cant go. You want to risk a loss to the Chiefs and Raiders. I dont.
    • bobbarker030
dude we could win if i was qb againts the chiefs and raiders lol
  • mac5fan
i think the fans who traveled to see the game should get their money back, the defense played like crap and other than a few players on offense, the rest just really sucked, lots of limping around and no shows on defense!!! that is not the tribute to jj i was expecting, i will say my bad when it comes to kolb he actually played a decent game today but not good enough to get the win.better luck next time!
  • hollywoodeagle
Reid says Kolb to get start w/o McNabb. Ill put money on KC

i won`t. the defense and special teams lost this game. not kolb.
  • LOGIC215
hey its only week two and i know we will never face an offense like the saints. Kolb did well and i was quasi impressed. the turnovers killed us and so did the penalties. not brokenhearted over the loss. but if next week wasnt against the chiefs garcia or vick would start. but kolb did decent. Defense needs to play better.
  • WHy don't you guys give credit to the Saints. Their O is unstoppable. The new look Greg Williams D got in Kolb's head at key times. i think that's 3 out of last 4. Wha Wha Wha...how many Saints fans did ya'll spit on today. Losing hurts don't it!!!!!!!!! Whodat!!!!!
  • ItsWhatever
The stats say Kolb had a good game. But he missed his receivers way 2 many times. Threw two stupid INTS, and made some bad decisions. Our receivers were open all day, and he missed them.
    • hollywoodeagle
True. Kolb was never a leader in this game. The game led him around. I give him a c-. I dont think he is a starter in NFL. Coming off the bench he is no Aaron Rodgers or Steve Young. If he plays vs KC that game might not go eagles way. Only Andy believes in him. I personally dont think he will ever lead the Eagles anywhere except losing seasons.
    • Phillyogre
Horse manure! Kolb spent half the game running for his life or on his back. while the porous offensive line scratched their balls. How many times was he blind-sided from the left? For a first start the kid did damn well. He made some mental errors but we have seen McNabb do the same. When the D bothers to show up and the O-line does their job then compare him to a 10 year veteran.
  • hollywoodeagle
i cant imagine anyone saying he should start over probowlers like Vick or Garcia or McNabb
    • hollywoodeagle
But there are alot of idiots out there.
    • Enriquefed
      Placard_complete_small
I don't think ANYONE is saying that
    • DMSUPER5
I feel pretty comfortable with Kolb in there. Vick is still a work in progress and Garcia was cut by the Raiders, so he may have lost a step since he last played. You gotta give Kolb a chance, especially now with a much easier schedule with some room for error.
    • ItsWhatever
ehh, Garcia was only cut so Jamarcus wouldn't feel pressured. Looks like that's turned out well.

with the way the d played today it's no surprise we didn't win!!! then there was the running of the wildcat every other play was the worst!!! whether it was mc nabb or kolb or vick or garcia that game was going to be an l!!!
    • ItsWhatever
With three INTS and 2 fumbles plus all the 3 and outs, I'm surprised the D didn't give up more.
  • Chilladelphia5
how did kolb have a good game didnt u c it saints let him get 391 yards because they were playing lose towards the end. 3 picks 1 for a td. we now no that kolb answered our question that hes not a starting qb. i jus dont understand why we didnt start Garcia i think he would have done much better. and without Mcnabb we suck,as for westbrook, kind of glad we didnt extend his contract.
    • bobbarker030
did u c the D? they did not do their job AT ALL 2day they were terrible and 4 his first nfl start kolb did pretty damn good he made some mistakes but even peyton manning makes mistakes
    • ItsWhatever
B-west has 26 carries for over 100 yards, on basically 1 full game of playtime.
  • Chilladelphia5
yea peyton manning made mistakes then he redeemed himself for the nex game. our Have u notice that our D does bad when Mcnabb is not startin remember when Garcia with the Colts they sucked, Seahawks and feely, Mcnabb is the leader of the offense, defense, and coaching if u think about it cause AR and MM suxs
    • DMSUPER5
No one is saying Kevin Kolb is better than Donovan McNabb, obviously. All anyone has said is that Kolb had a good game today and showed a lot of promise, despite making some crucial mistakes.
    • LILEAGLE
      Placard_complete_small
exactly dms5!!! he needs another year or 2 in this system!!! mc nabb is still our best option cause he can run this system in his sleep!!!
  • EazyEagleZ
Plenty of blame to go around, but Kolb is a distant last on the list.

JJ is rolling over in his grave today!!! it was a truly a piss poor performance!!! curtis is another thing he had 2-3 balls bounce of his chest and he was afraid to comeback to the ball!!!
    • khollen
      Placard_complete_small
yeah, i am starting to worry about curtis.
    • EazyEagleZ
LilEagle have been ripping kevin Curtis for about three months now! he guy has terrible hands and relies on his quickness. The problem is that he is hurt and has no quickness. A guy with no quickness and no hands should not be starting for a team with Super Bowl visions. Avant needs to start!
    • LILEAGLE
      Placard_complete_small
i always was an avant fan!!! sure handed and great route runner!!! the problem is curtis a mormon so reid ain't goona let him leave or send him packing!!!

if you are talking about demps, it`s because he is injured.

      ty kh!!!
    • EazyEagleZ
For some reason Demps lost his return job. It did not matter he was injured.
    • LILEAGLE
      Placard_complete_small
i can't figure that out eazy cause hobbs sucks!!!
  • mac5fan
blaming kolb is the last thing i would be doing right now ,the kid played his arse off,the defense and special teams is who lost it for us not kolb!!!
    • khollen
      Placard_complete_small
      agree.
  • EazyEagleZ
Can someone tell me why And Reid refuses to start Jayson Avant? This guy is a legit stud.
    • khollen
      Placard_complete_small
because he is better suited for the slot.

    Placard_complete_small
Dont blame kolb for the 3 int's one just happening to be a pick six, kolb is trash like i said in another post all you kolb suck asses would be the first ones to scream for mcnabbs head after a loss to the saints with 3 ints, kolb is about as promising as ty detmer
    • DMSUPER5
I like Kevin Kolb and I'm probably one of the biggest Super 5 fans on this site.
  • mac5fan
i agree that the interceptions didn't help but neither did the wide receivers by not running their routes, there is a lot of blame to go around but kolb isn't the only one at least he did try ,as much as it pains me to say it but he did try, it really could have a lot worse, let me go on record i am not a kolb fan,or a vick fan but, it is what it is!!!and i agree with the part about mcnabb case in point nfc championship game that was the defenses fault and donovan made a few mistakes but he bounced back, he put us in position to win,but it didn't happen!!!this team has a lot of problems that need addressed because we have 6 division games to play and it is not looking pretty!!
  • ItsWhatever
I'm pretty sure, if the Panthers DT didn't cheap shot Don in the endzone, we'd be sitting 2-0, heading into 4 easily won games.
