is Roy Williams comming to philly?

this is an awful idea because we already have dawkins who is the greatest coverman. Dont get me wrong dawkins is my favorite player but hes getting old and were gonna need people to cover not to just hit.

Dawk is a ball hawk, he may have lost a step, but his experience and instincts, help him get in position 2 make plays.

roy williams and brian dawkins play differnt postions dawkins is a free saftey, williams is a strong saftey...williams would be replacing quintin mikell not brian dawkins..

i dont think this would work. Roy Williams injured Donovan McNabb a few years ago, and last year, he closed line Donovan. Also a few years back, Roy closedlined eagle terrell owens. I dont think roy would fit in well with the eagles...and he is a bad cover man.

I highly doubt this will happen. I would love to have him hear, Asante, williams, dawkins, and Brown/Sheppard, would be the best secondary and football

How about Mikell's sack against the lions? Mikell is going to be great. Williams sucks. He is a liability to a secondary. Only the most desperate team would pick him up. My God, considine is better than Williams.

This is the first thing I thought of when I read this article.....The reason Roy is on the outs with Dallas is because he can't cover anyone......That's why he has to use that dirty horsecollar tackle....

this move makes NO sense at all roy williams is a terrible cover corner...he was so bad last year that he was benched on passing downs..we want the defense to improve not get worse quinten mikell may not be all that great but hes better than roy williams

I think Roy possibly move to LB its really not that big of a difference to him since they try to keep him down in the box and out of coverage. If Pat Watkins is healthy and ready mentally I could possibly see that move taking place. Roy would then be and athletic Lb that can just focus on short area plays!

your right, Michael Lewis was our safety and we used him at LB with some success.

I dont see him leaving Dallas this year and definantly not to the eagles, but i do see them changing his responsibilities.

That is the most idiotic statement I've ever heard. A: He would never leave the Cowboys for the Eagles and we wouldn't want him. B: All he gets are horsecollar penalties and has hurt a number of our players in the past. C: He's not all that good at that position he'd be better at linebacker. Quiten Mikell does a great job when filling in for Dawkins or Considine and he is younger then Roy giving him the advantage in the long run.

Our LB's suck besides Gaither and Bradley?? What about Chris Gocong.. the guy is an absolute monster and is going to tear it up this year. He plays strong side because he can stop the run, he plays the joker position because he rush the passer or drop back in coverage, and he can play down on the line!! Give me ONE TEAM that has 3 REALLY GREAT LB's.. we all have weak links on teams but LB certainly will not be one of them for us this year...

It's so anti-what the eagles fans are about. I know I couldn't and a lot of other fans I know have a person who has hurt our QB, T.O when he was here, and had so many dirty plays on us in our team. I could never cheer for him. It would just be weird.

cocong is a joke...if he was so good...whyd he have like 66 tackles in the season thats like 4 tackles a game...how is that a monster...a team with 3 really great LBS? how bout baltimore?? bartt scott...ray lewis, and terrell suggs...im a die hard eagles fan..but our backers dont come close

by the way.. Shawne Merriman of the Chargers had 68 tackles last year.. so what that's like 4 tackles per game as well.. he did have a boatload of sacks but that's because he blitzes 2 out of 3 downs he's on the field. Give GOCONG A CHANCE!!!

Merreiman was also suspended due to steroid use so if he played all 16 games he would of had more. And Gocong does suck, nobody ever heard of him before this year, my friends who like other teams like the Rams, Colts, and Chargers don't even know who he is, and they knew Trotter, Gaither, and Bradley. Gocong just doesn't have much natural talent and seems more like a back up then a starter. Drafting or trading for a new LOLB should be an Eagles priority for next year.

Last year was basically Gocong's rookie year. If you remember correctly he sat out his first year with a stinger. Going forward into year 2 he is going to have everything down to a science and will perform. We saw glimpses of him against NE where he was just inches away from getting Brady multiple times. He's a versatile LB that will get the job done and do it well.

So you chose Baltimore? Okay yeah good players no doubt.. Ray Lewis is on the decline and that defense wasn't anything like they used to be so it's beating a dead horse there. If LB is such an important position and you say that ours suck how is it that we were so productive as a unit last year?? Especially when we were juggling the LB position once Spikes went down. Both Bradley and Jordan emerged. You're shooting them down before giving them a chance when all Bradley has shown is in all but 2 games.. maybe 2 1/2 games.. die hard birds fan with a negative outlook that wants Dallas players on the team.. don't like where your head is at all...

We didn't need him last year to beat them and we won't need him ever to beat them. It's been done before and it will be done again. NE's LBs are good and on the decline as well. The Giants made them look pretty average in the SB so that's all you're going to get from me, oh and we only lost by 3 with our backup QB in the game.

Bradley has the skill set to be a very good MIKE yes. He is still unproven but I feel will adapt very well to the position and I think that we're pretty solid throughout our entire defense WITHOUT Roy Williams. For all of that we could have kept Michael Lewis and saved ourselves some penalty yards for not horse collar tackling. Both are a liability in coverage and can only play in run support. He doesn't merit a spot on the roster for being an undersized wannabe LB that plays SS and has to cheat to tackle. Bottom line annnnd I'm out. Have a good one!

As much of a good person Roy Williams is off the field I believe his time is up playing SS. He reminds me of Jason Sehorn. You love the guy and hate to see him get beat, but boy when do they go beat which is almost every pass play, is it comical. Though I feel sorry for both. But their both good guys and thats all that matters....
