Fox Sports Arizona:
Petros Papadakis, FOX college football analyst, joins Matt this week to discuss the crazy weekend of football that was. They talk about USC's loss to crosstown rival UCLA and what this could mean for Lane Kiffin; a thought on embattled first year coach Mike Leach; and a preview of this weekend's Territorial Cup game between ASU and Arizona.
Among his observations:
-- On USC's season: "I think it's been an utter failure. I think that you can say that very clearly that it has been a disappointment and it's been a failure. They were not overrated, they underachieved."
-- On the future of Mike Leach at Washington State: "He's a different guy that runs a different type of a program... He alienated his seniors. There's no doubt about that, but going forward I think he will have success."
-- His pick to win the Sun Devils-Wildcats game: "I like Arizona. I like any team that can play a lot of offense against Arizona State."

IT IS A discussion point that occurs frequently went Washington State’s football program is struggling. Some suggest that no matter what the Cougars’ record is a win in the Apple Cup against Washington at 12:30 p.m. Friday (TV: Fox) could salvage their season. Coach Mike Leach talked about that subject and recruiting during his Tuesday Pac-12 coaches teleconference.

LOS ANGELES - Although the result wasnt the one they were looking for, USC didnt have any problem getting up for UCLA.
The buildup contributes to that. They dont have Conquest every week on the USC campus, nor do they have a bonfire each week on the UCLA campus. Those traditions are saved for USC-UCLA rivalry week.
Players from both sides of the crosstown rivalry know each other...
The USC Trojans started the season ranked in the top 3 in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls, but after 4 disappointing losses have dropped out of the top 25 completely.
This has a lot of USC fans calling for Trojan coach Lane Kiffin to be fired. Kiffin has lost some big games this year by very small margins.

Earlier this week, Lane Kiffin announced that Matt Barkley would not play in Saturday's game against Notre Dame. With Barkley out, the Trojans' upset hopes now rest on the arm of redshirt freshman Max Wittek. Wittek only has nine pass attempts for the season and has taken limited snaps in his young career.
With a redshirt freshman at the helm and the Irish likely to play...
In what I considered to be the most important game of the season, ASU didn’t fail, as they become bowl eligible with a 46 to 7 blow out win over the visiting Washington State Cougars. In the annual Senior Day/Gold Game and also Salute to Service Day the Sun Devils finally rid themselves of that pesky mid-season losing streak. The much maligned Washington State Cougars led by...
Northwest Coaching Supremacy
The regular season is wrapping up this Saturday with rivalry weekend in the northwest. The Apple Cup and Civil War may not decide a champion in the Pac-12, but the games still mean plenty for the four schools involved.
Out of these four schools we love so much, which coach has done the best job this season? Here are my rankings for 2012.
4. Mike Leach...
