With the 21st pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Tight End Tyler Eifert out of Notre Dame.
Add another passing target for Bengals QB Dawson, and now the Bengals are really going to have to be taken seriously. He was Notre Dames No. 1 offensive weapon in 2012, lining up out wide as a WR or in-line as a traditional TE, and was the type of target defensive coordinators had to game plan against. Eifert is a fluid pass-catcher with vacuum hands and the hand/eye coordination to make tough catches and although he doesn’t create a lot of space, he secures grabs in traffic, showing outstanding tracking and high-pointing ability.
As a sophomore in 2010 he entered the season as a backup to Kyle Rudolph, but took over as the starter after Rudolph suffered a season ending injury. He finished the season with 27 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. In his junior season, he took over the starting position. As a starter, Eifert had 63 receptions for 803 y...

CINCINNATI -- The last time Andre Smith was involved in contract negotiations with the Bengals the scenario played out in a weekly TV drama. The cameras of NFL Films followed Smith and the Bengals management for Hard Knocks as they went about their business separately. The Bengals were going through training camp in Georgetown, Ky., while Smith was home in Alabama holding out.
The VitalsNFL Team: Cincinnati BengalsPick No: 21Player Name: Tyler EifertPosition: TESchool: Notre DameHeight/Weight: 6'5", 250 poundsHow is the fit?It is not a bad fit. He is a better prospect than Gresham was coming out of the Draft. Gresham has been a disappointment so far. If we keep Gresham the Bengals can go two-TE sets. A better pick here would have been…I would...
Tyler Eifert's first decision in Cincinnati is getting a little notice. He'll be wearing Ochocinco's old number.
By design, no less.
Eifert wore No. 80 at Notre Dame, where he developed into one of the nation's best tight ends. The Bengals got him with the 21st overall pick on Thursday night even though they didn't have a glaring need for another tight end ...
NFL News: Andre Smith is one of the better tackles in the game and went looking for big money but couldn’t find a suitor. I believe part of the problem for Smith was this draft class. It was so deep with offensive linemen that not many teams could justify spending top dollar on him. So he has reluctantly re-signed with the Bengals on a 3-year deal worth 18 million dollars. Not...

CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Bengals have taken running back Giovani Bernard from North Carolina with the first of their two picks in the second round of the NFL draft.
The pick completes their 2011 deal with Oakland for quarterback Carson Palmer. They got the Raiders' first-round pick last year, using it on cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. They also got the second-round pick -- the 37th...
1.21 Cincinnati Bengals Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame, (6-6, 251)
In perhaps a surprising move by the Bengals, they select Eifert with their first round pick in the 2013 draft. The Bengals already have Jermaine Gresham, so they’re expected to turn to many two tight end sets, which could work very well with the skill set of Andy Dalton.
Eifert is a tight end that can step in right...

CINCINNATI Tight end wasnt a position of need for the Bengals heading into the first round of the NFL Draft but drafting Tyler Eifert was a no-brainer when the Notre Dame product was still available at pick No. 21 Thursday night.
The Bengals added to their offensive arsenal by taking Eifert, a mismatch-in-the-making at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds.

North Carolina running back Giovani Bernard was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round with the No. 37 overall pick in the NFL Draft on Friday.
I have struggled with this decision plain and simple. I like Keenan Allen. I like DeAndre Hopkins. I like a lot of guys but the question keeps coming back to me. Which potential pick from the offensive side of the ball is truly a first round pick in our position?
In my decision-making process, I want it to be known that my most favorite choice at pick number 17 is to trade down....
The NFL Draft is looming, and the rumors are flying. St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead said it best earlier today when he told NFL Network “Right now, everybody’s just flirting.”
