The most valuable commodity of the 21st century is undivided attention. In terms of recruiting, Coconut Creek Monarch High’s junior wide receiver Calvin Ridley has acquired quite a bit. Ridley’s sophomore sensation of a season from a year ago proved to be beneficial. Over the summer Ridley committed to his own personal and physical development and because of that the recruitment letters have poured in. Of all things to worry about, it’s definitely not Ridley’s focus. He proved it was razor sharp during the first game of his junior campaign against Coconut Creek High. The 6’2, 175 pound Ridley reeled in 6 receptions for a productive 156 yards in the Knights’ 34-21 victory. After his performance Caneinsider caught up with Ridley to ask about the University of Miami as a potential collegiate destination. “I grew up a Miami Hurricane fan. It’s my favorite school. It’s my dream school,” said Ridley. “They’re in my top three.” Despite his sincere feelings towards the Hurricanes, he admits to liking of the University of Alabama, Florida, and West Virginia as well. Through it all, despite it all, Miami has a huge home advantage in landing the admitting childhood fan in Ridley. Only time will tell whether or not he chooses the Hurricanes.
