Following a successful and productive preseason, No. 2 Notre Dame opens its 35th season of intercollegiate competition at 7 p.m. (ET) Friday when it plays host to Akron in the first round of the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) at Purcell Pavilion.
