Rex Ryan says it's an ''ideal scenario'' for the New York Jets to have all three of their running backs - Shonn Greene, Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight - in the mix for playing time the rest of this season. It has been rare for all three to be healthy and effective in the same game, as they were in the Jets' 27-13 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Ryan says Tuesday that using all three helps throw off defenses, and AFC East rivals New England, Miami and Buffalo all use multiple players in the backfield. Greene is the starter, but says he's fine with sharing the workload. The Jets ran for 124 yards and two scores, both by Powell, last week with all three backs splitting time. --- Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFL

Rex Ryan Sidesteps Smack Talk, Says He’s ‘Not Worried About Tweaking New England’

The Jets and Patriots play two football games a year. They also play another game, where Jets coach Rex Ryan says something stupid and the Patriots shove it back in his face. But not this time, apparently. As the Jets and Patriots deal with a short turnaround before their Thanksgiving evening matchup, Ryan has decided to zip the lip and just make sure his 4-6 Jets come out to play...

Rex Ryan: Patriots' offense 'is like, man, I don’t know'

Rex Ryan knows what his New York Jets are up against Thursday night when they host the New England Patriots. Well, kinda."When you look at them offensively, [Tom Brady] doesn’t get sacked, they don’t turn the ball over, they lead the league in points, rushing is in the top five," the Jets coach said Tuesday, via NewYorkJets.com. "It’s like, man, I don’t know...

Jets quickly turn focus to Pats after win vs. Rams

Rex Ryan has no message for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots this week. Nope, no fightin' words this time around. After all, the way the usually brash coach sees it, the New York Jets (4-6) need to focus on themselves and ''punch our way out'' of the hole they got into with three straight losses before a 27-13 win Sunday at St. Louis. The victory...

Turn On The Jets Week 12 Roundtable – Jets vs. Pats Predictions

Joe Caporoso - 12 Pack Chris Gross- Jets 24, New England 21: Tomorrow, the Jets will display the same mentality that they had last week in St. Louis, the mindset that their backs are against the wall and they need to swing from the hip to survive throughout the rest of the season. While New York is historically bad under Rex Ryan when facing the Patriots in the clubs’ second...

New York Jets Fact or False: Thanksgiving and Rivalry Edition

Happy Thanksgiving, Jets fans! After a much-needed victory in St. Louis last week, the Jets find themselves in a familiar, yet unfamiliar, spot in the Rex Ryan era. What’s familiar about tomorrow night’s game against New England is that the Jets always seem to find themselves in a pivotal point of their season when matching up against the Patriots for the second time in the 17...

Greene ready to lead versatile running game

With the New York Jets running game gaining some steam, starting running back Shonn Greene thinks depth is the key on Thursday Night.

Turn On The Jets Stock Watch – Jets/Patriots Preview Edition

It’s a bit of a shame that the Jets play on a short week against the Pats this week because I would like to savor that curb-stomping Rex Ryan and his defense handed to former Jets coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s current St. Louis Rams offense just a little bit longer. After all, we haven’t had all that much to be pleased with this year, right? It sure was sweet to be on...

Rex Ryan Defends Bill Belichick’s Decision to Leave Rob Gronkowski In on Extra Point, Calls Criticism ‘Ridiculous’

Rex Ryan and Bill Belichick are supposed to be archenemies. They’re not supposed to exchange Christmas cards, compliment one another on their interesting clothing choices or even swap pleasantries, at least as far as Patriots and/or Jets fans are concerned. But on Tuesday, Ryan broke that code. The Jets head coach actually backed up Belichick on his decision to play Rob Gronkowski...

Week 12 AFC East game picks: Patriots at Jets

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the Thanksgiving divisional slugfest between the New England Patriots and New York Jets.Nick's take: Ah... Thanksgiving dinner, beer and Jets vs. Patriots. Few things are better. Rex Ryan will have Gang Green ready, and the Jets will divide their rushing attempts evenly between Bilal...

No Gronk vs. Jets, but Pats still go as Brady goes

There were no sighs of relief, no jumps for joy when the New York Jets found out they wouldn't have to worry about Rob Gronkowski this week. Sure, the New England Patriots lost perhaps the league's top playmaking tight end for a few weeks with a broken forearm. But Rex Ryan's team knew better than to celebrate. ''I don't know,'' Ryan said, shaking...

New York Jets at St. Louis Rams: Hero and Zero of the Game

The Rams were projected to win but they ended up losing.  Once again there was a lot of penalties and a lack of third down efficiency during the game.  The Jets have the Rams Offense and the Jets Defense to thank for the win.  Below is the hero and zero of the game.Hero: Bilal Powell He had two touchdowns during the game.  Both of them were in the second quarter.  Powell also...

New York Post Fires Shot at Bill ‘Butterball’ Belichick, Blames Patriots Coach for Rob Gronkowski’s Injury

It’s still early in the week, but Rex Ryan and the Jets have remained somewhat tight-lipped in advance of Thursday’s Thanksgiving showdown at the Meadowlands. The same can’t be said for the New York media. In what seems to be a customary move, the New York Post fired a shot Tuesday morning with its back cover. The target: Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The back page of...

No Huddle – Crucial Win In St. Louis Edition

4-6 is not the type of record to go celebrating in the Meatpacking District over. The way New York athletes often do after big victories. Ending a three game skid and moving beyond a “Terrible Tim” storm that threatened to derail focus on the Rams is. The Jets win over St Louis has seemingly calmed the Florham Park madness down for the time being but more importantly, has moved...

Sanchez, Jets' offense wakes up in must-have win

The New York Jets' winning formula Sunday against the St. Louis Rams Sunday was throwback 2009: stout defensive play, a steady rushing attack and mistake-free quarterbacking from Mark Sanchez. Running back Bilal Powell rushed for two scores, and Sanchez connected on 15 of 20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 27-13 victory. And get this -- Sanchez didn'...
