The Los Angeles Angels have re-signed outfielder Bobby Abreu to a two-year contract.
The deal also contains a club option for 2012.
Abreu joined the Angels shortly before spring training last winter and enjoyed a standout year, batting .293 with 15 home runs, 103 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. The two-time All-Star has driven in at least 100 runs in seven straight seasons, tied for the majors' longest active streak.

According to MLB Trade Rumors the Angels have given Bobby Abreu a two-year contract extension worth $19 million guaranteed. He will get $9 million for 2010 and 2011 season, plus a $1 million buyout or a $9 million option for 2012. The extension could be vested on plate appearances.And the hot stove begins.

Last year, Bobby Abreu sat around all winter trying to figure out where he was going to play. He apparently didn’t want to do that again, as he re-signed with the Angels on the first day of the off-season.
