We Should Be GM's:
Moyer has now started 19 games, the same number Eaton made in last season. Here's how their numbers compare.. Losses 8ERA 5.80WHIP 1.64BAA .310 Losses 7ERA 5.65WHIP 1.44BAA .296Moyer also has 9 wins and hasn't put up the absolute **** numbers that Adam Eaton did. Mainly because he has had 5 starts where he's given up 1 run or less. In the other 14 starts, however, he has a 7.55 ERA. Given that now we have a 75% chance that Moyer will give up 5 runs in 6 innings, I'm not convinced Moyer will be able to contribute to this team in October. I'm hoping to see more consistency in the next few starts, regardless of the size of the strike zone...--------------------------The Fighin' MetsThe Mets can't win many games these days, but they are good for some interesting stories.Apparently, Tony Bernazard, the Mets' vice president of player development, challenged at least one double-A player to a fight. Reports are that he called second baseman Jose Coronado a &q...

NY Yankees win sixth in a row, 6-4, over Baltimore Orioles

Orioles to AL East: "Ahem"
Playing in the AL East is like being trapped in a cage with a couple of lions.
The Rays managed to sneak by last year, but in most cases, every attempt at escape has led to botched hopes and another bloody stump for an arm.
No other teams really face this horrifying scenario, but with alarming consistency, the Yankees and Red Sox have snared the top spot and not even really noticed...

The Ramon Hernandez Trade: Waring and Turner Paying Dividends
On December 9th, 2008, the Orioles made a trade to clear Matt Wieters' path to the majors.
The club sent veteran catcher Ramon Hernandez to the Cincinnati Reds for utility man Ryan Freel and minor leaguers Brandon Waring and Justin Turner (pictured).
Even then, team president Andy MacPhail acknowledged the trade was more about clearing a spot for Wieters than getting two bright...
Notes: Moyer's performance polarizes peanut gallery
Critics argue that 46-year-old Jamie Moyer's performance is worse than pitchers like Adam Eaton and Kyle Kendrick, who were ousted from the rotation in 2008. Defenders call those comparisons unfair and point toward steady improvements since the start of the season. "Adam Eaton : Last pitched July 27th, with a 5.80 ERA. Jamie Moyer : At July 22nd, has a 5.65 ERA. He has rebounded...
