TEAMS: Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers
It was a little throwaway line in an NBA.com feature story about Philadelphia 76ers guard Louis Williams, but it raised a few eyebrows in these pasts. I just wanted to inform anyone who was concerned that Javaris Crittenton merely sprained his ankle while playing basketball recently in the Atlanta pro am and is doing fine. I asked about Crittenton and heard that he twisted his ankle in a game, but was in Washington earlier this week, working out, and looked okay. So, everybody can relax. It's

Getting to Know Foye
Do you know which one is Randy Foye? (David Sherman/Getty Images) It's been almost two months since Randy Foye became a Washington Wizard. And, outside of his introductory news conference with Mike Miller, little has been written about him and what he can possibly contribute to the Wizards. Foye has come to Washington a few times since the deal, but mostly, he has been at home...

Going Back To China, China
The final details are still being ironed out, but it appears that the Washington Wizards are about to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Bullets' groundbreaking journey to China by making a return to the country in early September. The Sports Business Journal first reported the event in late June, when most of us were caught up in the trade with Minnesota and free agency...
The Association’s Gay Ballers : Weirdly Resistant To The Charms Of Brendan Haywood
(sorry, Stephon. I missed the boat on this one)
Yesterday, a few paragraphs from Brendan Haywood’s critique of Stephon Marbury’s recent U-Stream meltdown were excerpted in this space, though it seems Haywood left the most sensational commentary for a webcast on Hardcore Sports Radio.
As you’ve no doubt read elsewhere, Haywood compared Marbury’s U-Stream appearance to [...]

Can Lou Williams Hold Down the Point for the Sixers?
Posted by Kevin Arnovitz Andre Miller's departure from Philadelphia left a vacuum at the point guard for the Sixers. The team selected UCLA point-leaning-combo guard Jrue Holiday with its first round draft pick, and has now named 22-year-old, fifth-year guard Louis Williams as the presumptive starter at the point for the 2009-10 season. Williams isn't a natural point guard...

Gilbert Arenas Is Feeling Good
Even though he has only played in 15 games over the last two seasons, there is reason to believe that Gilbert Arenas might be on his way back to dominance. When he was healthy, he was a player that would get you 25+ points per game, 4+ rebounds per game, 6 assists per game, [...]
Is Randy Foye the Next Dwyane Wade?
If this recent post on the Wizards Insider is to be believed, then Ernie Grunfeld deserves GM of the Year. Now.
I remember watching the Timberwolves once on NBA League Pass last season, when Foye and the Timberwolves hosted Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat. The Timberwolves lost the game, 99-96, and Wade had a game-high 31 points. But Foye nearly matched Wade basket for basket, scoring...
