Syracuse center Jim McKenzie will return to the field when the Orange play at #14/14 Pittsburgh on November 7 (12:00 p.m., ESPNU), head coach Doug Marrone announced today. A senior from Springfield, Pa., McKenzie missed SU’s last three games due to injury. He has played in 28 games, including 27 starts, for the Orange.

Syracuse football student-athletes Jim McKenzie and Kevyn Scott are 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team selections. The duo joins four other Syracuse University student-athletes to earn the honor this fall and will appear on the ballot to earn national honors. McKenzie, Scott and the football Orange will play at 14th-ranked Pittsburgh this Saturday (12:00 p.m., ESPNU).

The fifth-ranked Syracuse Orange field hockey team (16-2, 6-0) travels to Providence, R.I. for the BIG EAST Championship. Providence College will host the event with the semifinal taking place on Saturday, November 7, and the championship game on Sunday, November 8.
