The Hater Nation:
Hard not to get chills while watching the victorious Lakers walk down the steps of the Coliseum to a sea of 90,000 purple-and-gold clad Lakers fans.Thankfully all of them had their furloughs on Wednesday. Wasn't that convenient?Watching the Lakers greats of the past combined with the new generation -- Pao Gasol and Adam Morrison are going to get me to watch a regular season game yet -- was just a sight to behold. A great day to be a Southern California sports fan. But a sad day, too.Watching the city rally around the Lakers, you can't help but wonder why the region couldn't rally around an NFL team. Sure, you can make the argument that Southern California fans are too splintered. But seriously, 90,000 people at the Coliseum and hundreds of thousands more on the parade route? And we still don't have a football team. But then you realize that the NFL just isn't geared for Southern California. The Eastern seaboard and fly-over America is suited for the fickleness of ...

Pau GasolKevin McHale
One thing I love to do is compare current players with former players. Yeah, I know "its not fair", but I dont care. Its' fun. I think Pau Gasol is like Kevin Mchale in so many ways, it's eery. First of all, the physical similarities are there. They're both tall, thin, white power forwards with long arms and a wide variety of post moves, left or right handed...
Kobe Bryant Appears on Tonight Show
by Will BrinsonFiled under: Lakers, NBA Fans, NBA Hair Watch, NBA Last Night, NBA Media Watch, NBA Videos, InterviewsThere are some oddly interesting parallels between Kobe Bryant and Conan O'Brien, athleticism aside of course. Both are seen as "rebels" -- if you will/to a degree/etc -- and both are now champions -- again, to a degree -- having stepped out of the shadow of their...
Whom should the Lakers Keep
The question now rises.......Whom should the Lakers now keep? Most say having Odom is more essential, on the other hand having Ariza would be much needed for his excellent defense.According to this piece from the Los Angeles times," Kobe Bryant can terminate the last two years of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent July 1. Forwards Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza officially...
Lakers NBA title parade draws tens of thousands
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Tens of thousands of jubilant Los Angeles Lakers fans flooded downtown Wednesday, creating a tidal wave of purple and gold as they celebrated the storied franchise's 15th NBA title with a high-energy parade and rally paid for by the city's movers and shakers.
The Big Diesel is Getting Smaller and Smaller
Shaquille O'Neal will always be a towering figure in basketball history but in the past few years he has become a little smaller. Kobe Bryant refuted O'Neal's profane, classless rap by leading the Lakers to the 2009 championship with a Finals MVP performance, proving that he could indeed "do without" Shaq. Meanwhile, O'Neal presided over one of the most precipitous collapses by a...
Magic had all the questionsLakers had all the answers Lakers win series 4-1
Congratulations Los Angeles Lakers! When this series started I really thought the Orlando Magic would win their 1st ever NBA title instead it was the Lakers claiming their 15th. I wanted sooooooo badly to hate Kobe Bryant but I couldn't find any reason at all. The guy is the BEST player in the NBA and he is such a professional it almost sickens me. I kept waiting for arrogant...

KNOTT: Winning without the draft is a big deal
Once the NBA Finals succumbed to a plethora of hosannas being showered on Kobe Bryant, a nagging question surfaced. What was Chris Wallace thinking? No, really? It was Wallace who traded Pau Gasol to the Lakers on Feb. 1, 2008, which, of course, led to the celebratory riots in Los Angeles this week. Gasol meshed perfectly with Bryant's enormous ego because he does not need a...

Kobe Bryant vs. Michael Jordan: The Debate Ends Right Here
So I'm surfing the web when I come across a headline that had the name "Kobe Bryant" and "overrated" in the same sentence.
What a travesty.
To add to my furor and frustrations, Bryant is being compared to Michael Jordan yet again as a plausible argument for his supposedly exaggerated talents and accomplishments.
Yawn.
Aren't we tired of...
