After a summer of lobbying hard via Twitter about his desire to return to Toronto, former fan favorite Pops Mensah-Bonsu ripped apart his former team to the tune of 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks in just over 23 minutes of burn in his return to the Air Canada Centre. All while rocking his trademark ear-to-ear grin. Talk about being a cold blooded killer. After the game he was asked if this game was personal and he quickly brushed off the suggestion. “Definitely not personal,” he insisted while sporting his trademark grin. “This was the first place where I really got a chance to play or shine in the NBA and I’ve got a soft spot for this place. I just wanted to come out and make sure I played hard.” Playing hard is something that seems to come easy for Mensah-Bonsu. Last season he won over the fans in Toronto with this high-energy style of play and less then a month into his time as a Houston Rocket he’s already starting ...
