Redskins Insider:
Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is among the league's top players at his position, but defensive tackle Kedric Golston might have been the Redskins' most effective defensive lineman in the first four games. In his fourth season, Golston is emerging as one of Washington's top players. He has performed his role well, occupying offensive linemen and often preventing them from reaching linebackers on running plays and applying consistent pressure from the interior when opponents pass. "In the offseason, you saw the work he put in," middle linebacker London Fletcher said. "His pass rush has gotten a lot better. He's a guy you can depend on to get the job done. When we go to our five- and six-defensive linemen looks, he's not letting anybody get up to the linebackers. He's blowing centers up, knocking them back. "He's a very good player for our team. Since I've been here, I've seen him

Redskins @ Panthers - Fourth Quarter Thoughts
Despite the fact that the Redskins scored 17 points and the first quarter seemed promising, today did not end well. The Redskins have faced five straight winless-at-the-time teams, and they've managed to lose to three of them. And there aren't a lot of excuses or positives to look at here. Jason Campbell was under a lot of pressure pretty much the whole time and largely...
Redskins @ Panthers - Second Quarter Thoughts
I've really only got one thought about the second quarter: I'm very, very interested to review that safety. Off the top of my head, here are the places that it looked like blame could be placed (in no particular order):
Clinton Portis probably shouldn't have tried to stretch that play out from his own endzone; that's never a good idea, but ...

Redskins vs Panthers @ 1pm Today
Well, it’s Sunday which means it’s all about football. Our Washington Redskins head to North Carolina to take on the winless Panthers. By the way, the winless Panthers are favored by a field goal (3) over a 2-2 (.500) team so what does that tell you.
It will be interesting to see how the Redskins perform [...]
Jason Campbell, Speed, Defense & Hope
Some general, getting-back-in-the-saddle thoughts, heading into the second quarter of a dispiriting start to the 2009 Redskins season:
The game is still moving too fast for Redskins QB Jason Campbell. On the rare occasions he drops, reads and throws on rhythm, he’s pretty good—not Aikmanesque in accuracy, but certainly NFL caliber. Problem is, Jason doesn’t throw on rhythm...
As Of Tuesday, Clinton Portis Was In Favor Of Sellers, Communication
During Clinton Portis's regular Tuesday appearances on The John Thompson Show on ESPN980, you never know what you're going to get. Last year, it seemed like Portis was using Tuesdays mainly to work out his aggressions -- on the team, the coach, the radio hosts, whoever. This year, it's mostly been the Clinton Portis Super Happy Positivity Funtime Hour. And this week...
Who would you release from the active roster?
We are going to sign our 2nd punter, Pukaluk, from the practice squad to the 53 man roster, who do you think will be released to make room?
I'm going w/ DE Renaldo Wynn. With Jeremy Jarmin coming on, Wynn is now expendable, what say you?

Time for Panthers to crank up run game
(By Scott Fowler, sfowler@charlotteobserver.com)
This is a game where the Panthers need to run something like 40 times for 180 yards. That's their game plan for success. Quarterback Jake Delhomme is so much more effective if teams actually believe the play-action...
