Veteran safety Rodney Harrison has announced his retirement from professional football after 15 NFL seasons. Harrison spent the last six seasons with the New England Patriots (2003-08) after playing nine seasons with the San Diego Chargers (1994-2002).

Two college hockey legends - Boston College coach Jerry York and Boston University coach Jack Parker will be two of seven New England sports icons honored by the Sports Museum at its eighth annual gala called "The Tradition" on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. For the fourth straight year the New England Patriots Alumni Club provided the youth of Boston with a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football through its "Football For You" program. This year's event drew more than 150 kids to Madison Park High School and was extremely well received.
