TEAMS: Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox

Marlon Byrd set a Texas Rangers franchise record Tuesday after nailing seven hits in a double header against the Cleveland Indians.
After suffering through fifteen scoreless innings, the Rangers took the first game 11-9 and the nightcap 10-5 to pull within two games of the Boston Red Sox for the American League wild card. They should send Eric Wedge a thank you card.
Byrd wasn't the only Ranger swinging a hot bat though. Rookie Julio Borbon hit two longballs in the first game while first baseman Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in the second. In fact, both teams combined for 54 hits and nine homers in the two games.
Back to Borbon for a second. This guy now has three homers in 70 big league at-bats after hitting just nine in 1,091 career minor league at-bats. Pretty impressive... just too bad there were less than 1,000 people there to his homers and fewer than 13,000 at Progressive Field in paid attendance by the end of the day.
Geez. Fair weather much, Cleveland fans?
