Mondesi's House:
Some good news on this 4th of July Eve: the Penguins have announced that they've re-signed 30-year-old winger Ruslan Fedotenko to a one-year deal for what I consider a very reasonable $1.8 million.Fedotenko, their highest-profile remaining free agent, scored 39 points (16 goals/23 assists) in the 2008-09 regular season and 21 points (7 goals/14 assists) in the postseason. The first Ukranian to ever win the Stanley Cup, he's an eight-year NHL veteran, breaking in with Philadelphia back in 2000. If nothing else, he is very consistent, finishing between 32 and 39 points in six of his eight seasons. The two-time Cup winner adds a certain cache to the team (especially in the playoffs) and the Penguins are undoubtedly better off with him than without him. Once again, Ray Shero has pushed the right button. Someone send that man a congratulatory box of fireworks.Penguins re-sign Fedotenko [Empty Netters]Email: Mondesishouse@gmail.com Twitter: twitter.com/mondesishouse Facebook: Face...
