Green Bay Press Gazette:
Linebacker Brady Poppinga returned to practice today after sitting out on Monday and Wednesday because of illness. Poppinga appeared to be limited during the portion open to reporters, however, and it remains to be seen whether any lingering effects of the sickness impact his role in Sunday's game against Detroit.Running back DeShawn Wynn (knee) is sitting out practice again and looks doubtful for Sunday. Fullback Korey Hall (calf) already has been ruled out.Everyone else was in uniform, including left tackle Chad Clifton (ankle) and safety Atari Bigby (knee), who appear to remain on track to return this week.Practice is being held outdoors at Ray Nitschke Field on another particularly miserable day in the Green Bay area.-- Tom Pelissero, tpelisse@greenbaypressgazette.comhttp://twitter.com/tompelissero

Bigby Returning….Was He Really Missed?
In football, like in most things, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Even accepting this “truth,” it is hard to overstate the significance of Atari Bigby’s absence, the last three games because of a sprained knee, to the Packers defense.
As if the lack of Bigby’s physical presence resulting in WR and [...]
Rodgers holding the ball too long?
Any fan of the Packers over the first four games has undoubtedly found themselves shouting either at the game or at the TV, "Get rid of the ball!!!". This, in reference of course, to QB Aaron Rodgers seemingly preferring to take sacks over throwing the ball away when under pressure or when no receiver is open. The discussion of whether it's the sieve-like offensive...

1. The Packers pre-date the NFL. Only the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals can also say that, and the Cardinals have moved twice since that date.

Bad protection, big production for Pack's Rodgers

Notebook: Driver One Catch Away From Record
Wide receiver Donald Driver's first-ever game at Lambeau Field was in 1999 against the Detroit Lions, and that will be the opposition once again on Sunday as he looks to become the Packers' all-time leader in receptions.
Driver tied wide receiver Sterling Sharpe's (1988-94) mark of 595 career receptions in Week 4 at Minnesota with a 10-yard reception late in the fourth...

Are we on?
Is it just me or does this football season feel like it's just starting this week? Maybe it's the early bye, maybe it's all the stupid prime time games which makes my wife ask me why we're investing in the Sunday Ticket if they're just gonna' be on every week anyway and then I get all angry about having to defend a totally indefensible financial decision...
